Who is CJ and what are these CJ's Stix and CJ's Bitz?

"CJ" stands for Cheryl Jagoda. She is the inventor of CJ's Stix. Here is how it happened:

Once upon a time, Cheryl was invited to a cookie exchange over the holidays. Not being the greatest baker, Cheryl brought chocolate-dipped pretzels rolled in toffee chips. It was an instant hit and soon became a signature treat of hers.

Cheryl was a stay-at-home mom, living in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two children. She wasn’t one to “sit idle” and started to think about what her future career path might be.

“I can remember reading an Oprah Winfrey article, ‘What I Know For Sure’ and the article talked about discovering your reason for existence by knowing your passion,” Cheryl says. That stuck with Cheryl for many years and came alive as she moved into a business as a Personal Chef.

After joining the “culinary world”, her good friend suggested that she figure out a way to market and sell her gourmet chocolate treats. And so it began, the blending of a passion of hers and the creation of a family business. Marin Chef LLC, (the makers of CJ’s Stix) was born!

The business is a family business. Cheryl heads up the marketing and PR of the company, working to build new websites, find the right shows to attend and learning the fine art of blogging! Bruce (Cheryl’s Dad) is the true backbone of the company. After going into retirement from a career in the retail industry, Bruce manages sales and distribution and is production manager and face behind the product. Bruce keeps weekly demos at many of our larger retailers and some people look for him each weekend. He has an incredible way of connecting and truly shares his passion of the company with anyone that will listen! Steve (Cheryl’s husband) manages the finances and purchasing of supplies for the company. And lastly, Carol (Cheryl’s Mom) manages the communication between the partners and is chief “sitter” for her two grandkids when the rest of the crew is out on business. It is truly a team effort and they are passionate about what they do!

We are proud of the distribution that we’ve built over the last 4 years, with our products in over 90 retail locations, wineries, gift basket companies and more.
